The amber mined in the Kuji area of Iwate Prefecture belongs to the Late Mesozoic Cretaceous Period, the age of dinosaurs.
It is the oldest amber mined for commercial use in the world today.
The translucent brown to reddish brown amber with striped patterns, which is called "golden amber" and is highly prized, is produced in large quantities.
It is called "gold amber" and is highly prized.
Kuji amber handled at Kuji Amber is mined from our own mines, and all processes from sorting to processing are carried out in an integrated manner.
